Dieses Lied habe ich von Hamish Imlach gelernt. Er meinte zwar, es sei traditionel, das ist es aber nicht. ich vermute mal, es spricht die Zeit des Beginns der Prohibition an, wo jemand schmerzlich Abschied vom trinken nimmt.
Jean Havez verfasste auch Stücke für Charlie Chaplin und andere.
Aufgenommen habe ich es 2020 in meinem Haus in San Jose de Buena Vista. Als Backing vocals: Christy Mabilog und Chrishel Amurao. Sensationell Gerd Gorke an der Mundhamonika.
Passend auch, das der Sänger offenbar im Gefängnis sitzt! Zur Zeit der Aufnahme durfte ich das Haus nicht verlassen! Außerdem gab es keinen Alkohol…
